SAMARA

SAMARA- System of Automation of office mine-surveying and geological operations

Main characteristics:

  • Platform – AutoCAD 2004 (2005, 2006) and all their derivatives (Map, Land Desktop, Inventor, Mecanical Desktop, ...).
  • Instrumental development facilities – C++ (ObjectARX, MVS).
  • Classification – tactical CAD/GIS-system of light class.

Main function – automation of everyday office information processing by surveying (geological-surveying) department of a mining enterprise.

In the production operation of a mining enterprise geological and surveying service plays an important role. The data from this service are the primary information about the mine workings geometry, speed and characteristic of developing workings.We can say that this service is the source of information, which influences the work of an enterprise in general. The peculiarity of this service’s work is processing huge volumes of various types of information. This fact together with the data from field measurement and their derivatives are the basis of any enterprise. Complex analysis of all this information is a labour-intensive and scrupulous process which can be made more efficient with the help of computer technologies.

Principle of operation?

The use of SAMARA system means development of informational and geometrical model of enterprises’ mining lease, its current state and its use to solve the tasks of office data processing: project, calculating, graphical. The system has modules which allow to process field measurements, record them, supplement the existing model, design projects and drafts. Geological subsystem FataMorgana allows to work out, edit, analyze bed and surface models on the basis of various data. SAMARA can completely replace workpads and other types of graphical documentation.

As SAMARA is AutoCAD application it is compatible with many technologies. Moreover its operation can be extended by any of 4000 AutoCAD programs.

The system provides:

  • entrance, accumulation and field measurements processing with their further graphical visualization;
  • graphical works connected with visualization of the current state of mine workings, their design;
  • realization of measurement and marking operations in plan projection and 3d space;
  • automatic design of 3d models of mine workings;
  • preparation of mining graphical documentation of different purposes and scales;
  • entering, accumulation and processing of data on geological structure of the mine lease, received in the process of developing drilling, operational and extraction workings;
  • formation and analysis of spatial models of relief and geological beds.

System’s main function:

Axial module:

Calculation, equalization, formation of a text document and drawing:

  • progression;
  • results of tacheometric and trigonometric survey;
  • results of intersection method measurement;
  • results of ordinate method measurement;
  • results of leveling lines;
  • data of electronic appliance (Topcon, Trimble, 3TA5, Leica, Nikon, Sokkia, Geodimeter).

Calculation of roadway profiles with random number of parameters (roof and sole, rail head, width and height, cabling, etc.)

Pre-calculation of breakthroughs, creation of text documents and results drawing.

Construction:

  • Automatic and semi-automatic construction of plan projections of mine workings on the basis of control points;
  • Automatic construction of roadways profiles with random number of parameters;
  • Automatic construction of 3d roadways models;
  • Automatic construction of plan projections of wells along the particular bed;
  • Automatic construction of lithographic well columns with definite marks range and different variants of connections;
  • Automatic construction of 3d models of hole axes.

Measurements:

  • Measurement of horizontal lengths along the straight line and curved trajectory;
  • Measurement of horizontal and vertical angles;
  • Measurement of sloping lengths and volumes of mine roadways;
  • Marking of mine workings area in the plane and space;
  • Measurement of squares in random contours.

Graphical documents:

  • Library of notation conventions of cartographic documents, line types and hatching (with the possibility to complement to one’s needs);
  • Management of visualization of cartographic documents elements and their automatic sorting;
  • semi-automatic formation of cartographic documents elements;
  • Automatic formation of edge design.

Infotainment:

  • Function of connection of a graphic model with text and figures;
  • Function of information search and selection on the basis of correlated data.

In total at present SAMARA system has more than 100 functions ensuring development and supplement of mine workings model at any mining enterprise as well as use of models to solve office tasks of mine-surveying and geological service.
